How do I choose tassel fringe?

Tassel fringe should be proportional to the valance length. Shorter tassel fringes can go on any valance length, but short valances should have shorter (2-1/2 inches and less) tassel fringe only. In other words, don’t get a long 4-inch tassel fringe on a valance that’s only 16 inches long unless you absolutely want to do that. It may work on shaped valances and swags, but for valances with a straight bottom hem, we recommend to stick to shorter tassel fringe unless it’s a longer valance.
