Choose your desired fabric.
Select the desired width, in 1/4" (0.25-inch) increments. This valance is available in widths between 18 and 120 inches only.
This valance has no vertical seams, regardless of width chosen.
Valance hangs on a spring tension rod inside the window. First make sure that there is at least 1-1/2 inches of unobstructed window depth, excluding any blinds.
Next, measure the inside width at several places and choose the widest measurement. From that, subtract 1/8 to 1/2 inches to figure out what width you'll need to order.
EXAMPLE: Order a 35.5-inch or 35.75-inch valance width if measurement above is 36 inches.
This option uses regular rods with decorative finials or decorative endcaps on each end.
Make sure there is at least 3 inches of unobstructed wall space (excluding window trim) around each window and there is ample of unobstructed wall space above the window as well.
Measure the window, including the window trim, and add an extra 1 to 2-1/2 inches to determine the width you'll need to order.
EXAMPLE: Order a 49-inch or 50-inch valance width if measurement above is 48 inches.
The flat valance has a 3-3/4-inch rod pocket, so it can work on either a lockseam or a 2-1/2-inch wide pocket (also known as Dauphine, or continental) rod. The available rods will typically allow you to choose any desired return from 2 inches to 8 inches, as needed.
Follow the same measuring instructions for "Outside Mount with No Return" and simply add the rod return twice to the measurement.
EXAMPLE: Window width is 38 inches, including the window trim. Adding an extra 1 inch makes it 39 inches. If the rod has a 5-inch return, add an extra 10 inches. In total, the valance width to order in this case is 49 inches.
